For years the agricultural industry has been struggling with the problem of how to cover wet flumes in storage bins. Wood products rot, mildew and splinter, causing numerous difficulties and the need to replace the covers frequently. Metal and steel solutions tend to be expensive, heavy and have their own unique sets of challenges. Prestige Vinyl Company Inc. has come up with a solution to all of these problems with the development of an all pvc (polyvinyl chloride) plank, one of the largest extrusions produced in the world to date.

This all-new plank has been specifically designed for indoor use where heavy loads need to be supported. Technology in pvc extrusion has not been able to produce adequate properties needed for a products of this type until recently, and PVC. Inc. has applied exhaustive resources to produce a product that will perform exceedingly well.

Prestige Vinyl Company Inc. (PVC Inc.) is a fully integrated manufacturer/fabricator of pvc products. The company's primary line of business is to manufacture lineal lengths of pvc for construction purposes, predominantly fencing, decking and railing. Many other products have been developed including a variety of building structures, garden accessories and other barriers and platforms where the advantages of pvc can best be utilized.

 

PVC Inc. distributes its products throughout North America through a channel of authorized dealers and distributors.

3" x 12" Nominal Dimensions

Fits nearly all existing wet-flume channels - no further trimming or cutting to make the board fit;
Variety of Load-Bearing Capabilities:

Plank Only: 35.4 lbs per square inch;

One Reinforcement: for moderate equipment loads;

Two Reinforcements: will support the most demanding load;

Flexibility to provide the strength you need for nearly any application;
Optional End-Caps

Designed to add extra rigidity to the profile, reducing side deflection;

Prevents dirt and moisture from entering the plank, eliminating the growth of mould and mildew;
Ultra-Smooth Finish

Provides for exceptional cleaning and maintenance;

Reduces the risk of mould and bacteria growing on the product;
Lightweight

Only 3.7555 lbs per foot makes the product easy to handle in the field;
Made from a Premium Compound of PVC

Rot resistant - impervious to moisture, insects and mould;

Will not splinter or shard;

Workable - easy to fabricate for a variety of applications with common tools (chop-saws, skill saws, etc.);

Contains a minimum amount of TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) keeping the cost of the product low, yet protecting the profile from minimal UV rays such as florescent lighting;
Cost Effective
Payback comparing capital outlay to alternate wood products is extremely advantageous - approximately seven to twelve years;
Versatility
The use of optional cap ends, spacers and rigid inserts provide for a variety of applications such as: allowing sufficient air-flow, adding extra strength and rigidity, Sealing the profile from moisture, dirt and other foreign debris;
Convenient Packaging

The planks are cut in 15' lengths and packed 40 pieces per bundle - total of 600 lineal ft.;

Bundle weight of around 2,100 lbs - easy for most forklifts to manage;

18 bundles per truckload of 10,800 lineal ft.
